Discover the Legacy of Local: Bagley Farms Meat Market’s Partnership with Rolling Lawns Farm

At Bagley Farms Meat Market, we pride ourselves on selling locally grown, raised and produced
foods. That is why we get our milk from Rolling Lawns Farm in Greenville.

Rolling Lawns Farms is a 4th generation family farm owned and operated by the Turley family
since 1910 when Sam Schmollinger registered his first Holstein calf.

Holstein cattle date back to Europe in 100 BC when a black Holstein cow was bred with a white
Friesians leading to the spotted cows known today as Holsteins. Registered Holstein cows were
first introduced in the United States in the 1850s. The Rolling Lawns Farm lineage goes back 28
generations to a cow named Grietje Reinks who was imported from Lieve Vrouwen in Friesland,
Netherlands, into New York in 1883. They currently have 3 generations living on the farm (the
Buffy Family) dating back to 1969 when Zehrview Marquis Gay “Buffy” came to the farm. Every
female descendant is matched to a hand chosen bull to pass on her outstanding pedigree for
generations to come.

They now milk 120 cows every day and night, providing Grade A milk not only to us, but to fine
restaurants throughout the area. From field to bottling plant is 8 miles and less than 24 hours to
Bagley Farms Meat Market.

Their mission has remained the same for over 100 years: “To celebrate and share the
provenance of the farm with all. We are passionately dedicated to the care and well-being of the
registered Holstein cow.”

What sets Rolling Lawns apart from other dairies is their focus on creating unique flavored milks
such as chocolate, strawberry, cappuccino, and seasonal flavors such as orange cream and
root beer that are good straight out of the bottle or mixed in your favorite beverage or recipe.

Rolling Lawns Farms is just one of the many local brands you will find at Bagley Farms Meat
Market. Using our delivery service to your home within 5 miles of the store is the next best thing
to having the milk man deliver to your door.
